Jerry Coon
Jerry Coon is married to Patricia and they have 5 boys, one working as a warehouseman in Springfield, MO, one serving in the United States Navy as a Master at Arms at Kings Bay, GA. Three children remain in the home.
Jerry is retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after almost 20 years of Regular Active Duty Service of which 16 of those years were in service with the U.S. Marine Corps. He lived the military 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He has held many different jobs, attending 3 leadership courses, and served in Combat in 3 different areas of operation, Grenada, Beirut and Kuwait.
After retirement, Jerry worked for a Transportation Company for 3 years and then worked for the City of Springfield, MO in the County Health Department for 3 years. During his time at the City, he also obtained a Real Estate Brokers license with the intent of going into real estate. After 9 months of selling real estate, the market began it's collapse, Jerry and Family moved to Rogers, Arkansas to be closer to his wife's family.
As mentioned, during Jerry's time in the service, he has held many jobs that presented challenges and required the responsibilty and safety of the men under him and the care of the Marines under his charge. As well, his few civilian jobs also presented challenges and responsibility both professional and personal. While with the Transportation Company, Jerry experienced what it meant to be layed off and collect unemployment, an experience burned into his memory and the struggle of providing for a family. None the less, surviving this period of time, he learned what it means for families who survive daily and then successfuly navigate the challenges.
His work background is extensive with many different experiences and processess. These benefit the success of getting things done and accomplishing the mission whatever that mission maybe. You will notice much of this experience dealt with leadership and interacting with people. He can through these experiences identify with the everyday working Citizen, business owner and the opportunities that exist for climbing the ladder of success.
